The
XPERIA XA1 Plus from Sony offers a media experience on large screens and a long
battery life, so you can stream movies and shows all day long. The satisfying
camera technology and the price of 300 euros are a great alternative to other
well-equipped mid-range phones. At the beginning of 2017, Sony launched the
very good XPERIA XA1 smartphone. This 5-inch handset costs just over $ 200, yet
has a similar sleek design to the XPERIA premium phones, along with some decent
specifications and features.
Now,
as we approach the end of the year, Sony has released a larger version of the
XA1, the XPERIA XA1 Plus. This Plus model offers a more spacious screen and a
larger battery for a longer life between charges. You also get the same 23

Sony XPERIA XA1 plus - Design:
If
you are buying the XPERIA XA1 Plus for the first time, you will probably be
surprised that it is not a more expensive device. Sony has developed a phone
with a premium feel, which has a surprising weight to more or less meet the
flagship XPERIAs. As before the XPERIA XZ1 and XZ Premium, the XA1 Plus offers
the typical "stretched" design work of Sony. The bezels on the sides
of the screen are pleasantly slim, although they also extend quite high up and
down in the usual XPERIA style. Comfortably curved edges stand in stark
contrast to the flat top and bottom, making these phones stand out from the
crowd.
Although
the XA1 Plus sits well against the palm, it is undeniable that it is difficult
to work with one hand. Sony still does not provide support in this area. For
example, you can call the Notifications tab with a gesture or a keystroke.
Likewise, you cannot reduce the usable display in times of need. You definitely
need both hands to operate this phone when you're on the move.
Sony XPERIA XA1 Plus - Screen and
Media:
While
the standard XPERIA XA1 offers a 5-inch 720p screen for digesting your media
and more, the XPERIA XA1 Plus is even better in terms of both size and
resolution. So now you get a 5.5-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD resolution
of 1920 × 1080 pixels. The control panel of the Plus model is therefore better
for listening to movies and shows. Stream a lot of Netflix? This handset will
handle it pleasantly. The pictures are sharp, even if the screen is a good
size, so you can enjoy strong levels of detail. Also, the maximum brightness is
strong enough to suppress glare, and the screens do not fade out when tilting
the screen.
You
can also bring a pretty decent media collection on this Sony mobile phone if
you do not like streaming. The 32 GB of storage is filled pretty quickly, so
thanks to a micro SD memory card, thankfully, you can expand it by another 256
GB. The Sony Smart Cleaner feature also lets you remove the XPERIA XA1 Plus
cache if more internal memory is required.
Sony XPERIA XA1 Plus - Features and
Operating System:
If
you've been using a Sony XPERIA smartphone lately, you'll know what to expect
here. Android Nougat is overlaid with Sony's own interface, which alters the
look and feel of Google's mobile operating system and offers some bonus
