With
the launch of Marshmallow in the Android world, Google also introduced the new
Pixel C, a new premium tablet developed by Google as a shining example of
Android tablets. With a perfect partner keyboard, Pixel C has been boosted in
productivity, making it one of the best tablets we've seen in 2015: the Sony
XPERIA Z4 Tablet. The latter tablet from Sony comes with a keyboard that makes
it clear that both Android devices want to keep you creative on the go. But
which is the best tablet for you? We lived with them and put them together for
review.
Google Pixel C vs. Sony XPERIA Z4
Tablet - Design:
The
Google Pixel C has an anodized aluminum case and measures 242 x 179 x 7 mm. The
Sony XPERIA Z4 tablet measures 254 x 167 x 6.1 mm and is equipped with an
aluminum frame and a plastic housing. The Sony is narrower and smaller than the
Pixel C due to the different display sizes, but the Google tablet is not that
wide and offers a more first-class design, even if it's not waterproof like the
Sony.

Tablet - Cameras:
The
Google Pixel C has an 8 megapixel rear view camera and a 2 megapixel front
camera. The Sony XPERIA Z4 tablet also has an 8-megapixel camera, but increases
the front-facing snapper to 5 megapixels. It's not just about megapixels when
it comes to how well a camera works, because the computing power has a lot to
do with it, but the additional resolution helps, especially when it comes to
the front. We're not big fans of pictures with a tablet, so the features of the
reversing camera are less annoying than the front that we often use for video
calling. We were not particularly impressed with the Pixel C cameras, they are
more adequate than exciting, and that's not too different from the Sony XPERIA
Z4 tablet.

Tablet - Hardware:
The
Google Pixel C is a powerful tablet with the NVidia Tegra X1 processor, Maxwell
graphics and 3 GB of RAM. The Sony XPERIA Z4 Tablet is a good performer in
terms of performance. It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and
Adreno graphics card, which also supports 3GB of RAM. In terms of storage
capacity, the Pixel C offers 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage options, but
the Micro SD extension is not supported. The XPERIA Z4 Tablet, on the other
hand, offers only 32 GB of storage space, but has Micro SD support for memory
upgrades of up to 128 GB, which can be used as conventional storage after
upgrading to Marshmallow.
The
Pixel C has a Google claimed battery capacity for up to 10 hours of video
playback. The Sony has a capacity of 6000 mAh, which is supposed to provide 17
hours of video playback, which is significantly more than the Pixel C. Sony is
known to offer a decent battery life, although this was to be expected.

Tablet - Software:
Pixel
C is a pure Android tablet powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the latest
version Google has to offer. For comparison: The Sony XPERIA Z4 Tablet comes
with Android Lollipop and is waiting for an update. The big difference,
however, is the additions made by Sony. Sony adjusts many aspects of the
software experience, adds many additional apps and switches to its own
services, in some cases copying what you receive by default from Google. On the
other hand, Sony enhances the media experience by offering more connectivity and
fun options like PS4 Remote Play for a small console game on your tablet.
