Not
everyone needs flagship smartphones or giant "paddles" - a
medium-sized phone with a modest price and attractive design is often more
popular with people.
Design and Ergonomics:
The
smartphone looks very attractive and somewhat unusual - mainly due to the
unusually thin side frames around the display. Their thickness, together with
the corners of the case, is only 2mm, making the device look like a simple
screen with two dark stripes above and below it. At the same time, the body
looks unusually narrow and high from top to bottom due to the rather wide
frame.
Sony
XPERIA XA offers three color options - white, gold and graphite black, editors
are the latest version. In this color, the smartphone looks strict and stylish,
and despite its relatively small size (by the way, at the time of its release
it was the narrowest model with a 5-inch screen), it looks like a typical male
smartphone. The screen is covered with protective glass with oleophobic coating
and rounded edges (the so-called "2.5D glass"). The side edges are
metallic, the upper and lower are made of plastic and differ minimally from the
lateral ones (except for the subjective sensation "cool / not cool").
The back cover is made of plastic with a matte finish, non-staining and practical
- it leaves no fingerprints, dirt can be easily removed and does not slip in
your hands.
On
the left side there are two slots under the protective cap: one for the Micro
SD memory card and the other for two Nano SIM SIM cards. On the right, just
above the center, is an on / off switch, including a volume rocker, and at the
bottom is a camera shutter (a proprietary "chip" from Sony
smartphones). Subjective impressions of the smartphone are very pleasant; The
device fits perfectly in the palm of the hand and is well controlled with one
hand. The position of the on / off switch and the unlocking method (svayp,
either from bottom to top or from right to left) are usually directed at
right-handed people. Users who use the phone with their left hand will not do
so comfortably.
Display:
The
Sony XPERIA XA uses a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels
and a pixel density of 294 PPI (for comparison, the iPhone 6s has 326 PPI);
While looking at the picture, it is possible to distinguish the
"grain" in principle, but in the usual application, it is not
visible. The screen is very bright (maximum value - 450 cd / m²), so that the
image on the road is burned out, but is still usually visible. A high contrast
(1500: 1) and a slightly overestimated gamma value make the picture juicy and
full, with deep shadows. A slightly higher color temperature, which gives a
slightly cold color, can be corrected in the menu with the parameter
"white balance". If the user believes that the photos are not
saturated, the "color" in the display settings may be increased.
Activate the Image Enhancement menu of the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 option.
Hardware platform:
The
smartphone features a MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset with a 2GHz 8-core
Cortex-A53 CPU and a dual-core Mali-T860 GPU. The RAM is 2 GB - 16 GB. In
general, it is a typical mid-level device that is sufficient for both normal
applications and demanding games. Although the smooth running of the user
interface, especially with a large number of home table widgets, could be better.
