Checkout for Cost Effective Repairing service for VAIO S series Laptop in UK

Sony has redesigned the VAIO S-Series business notebook. Sony can play it safe and just add a Sandy Bridge Intel processor, but the Japanese Colossus was a bit brave and introduced a completely new design.

The last VAIO S-Series we saw was a good laptop, but the plastic chassis felt a bit cheap and weighed only 2 kg. The new SB1V9 weighs less than 1.8 kilograms and feels stronger, yet looks stylish and attractive. Sony still managed to squeeze into the DVD burner, which was impressively light. While we could only try the pre-production unit in minutes, we were still impressed by the large backlit keyboard and huge touchpad.

The new S-Series is a sleek, ultra-portable business device weighing less than 1.8 kilograms, featuring a 13.3-inch display, a backlit keyboard and optional 3G network, and the new second battery from Sony. Although there is no display, the second battery is inserted into the bottom of the notebook and can double the power supply time. Since it is the same size as the laptop itself, it should not, like many oversized batteries, change the appearance or imbalance of the laptop.

The notebook seems to be sealed like the Dell Vostro V130, but the removable battery is hidden behind an easily removable panel. The external battery can be connected via a special connector on the bottom of the computer. Sony claims that the built-in battery lasts up to 7 hours and the external battery lasts up to 7 hours.

The top-of-the-line SB1V9 features 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a Core i5 2520m 2.5GHz processor and an integrated 3G modem. This model will be available in black and costs about 800 euros (including VAT). There are two graphics chips - an integrated Intel chip and a more powerful, but also more power-hungry Radeon-specific chip. Use the switch on the keyboard to switch between the two. If there is no integrated 3G and slightly lower specifications, a slightly lower silver model is offered.

Both models also have a USB3 port, a fingerprint reader and a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels. Customers ordering from sony.co.uk should also be able to tailor both models to their specifications and offer options such as Blu-ray drives, SSDs, and various coverage areas. The new VAIO S Series notebooks are by far the most promising notebooks in the upcoming Sandy Bridge notebooks we've seen so far. We look forward to providing you with a comprehensive review as soon as possible.
