Which delightful little console will
you take home with you? This is a question Nintendo and Sony face this year
with their threefold threat of retro console offerings with nostalgia. Perhaps
you have already gotten hold of the two tiny Nintendo consoles and would like
to complete the retro collection with Sony's future PlayStation Classic? Or
maybe you have not bought any of these adorable little guys yet!
Whatever the situation, we have an
overview of all three points here:
Each console in this list is small
because it is so small that it literally sits in the hand. Each console on this
list integrates games that you do not buy but insert cartridges or discs and
insert them as you did with the original versions of each device. To put it in
a nutshell: none of the following consoles can even read cassettes and discs,
none of the following consoles work with original hardware such as gamepads or
network adapters. They all use updated lookalikes of the original hardware that
are not compatible with data from 20 to 30 years ago. Each console has a
static, immutable list of games that are wrapped up. You cannot add any more.
1. NES Classic - Miniaturized version of Nintendo Entertainment System
(NES):

2018, a digital micro version of the classic game console was released. The
delightful little box is reminiscent of the original 1985, but much smaller.
The NES Classic was launched from the start and soon became a hot item.
Nintendo's console is annoying to all fans. It is currently in production and
is easy to find in stores.

2. Super NES Classic Edition - Miniaturized version of the original Super
Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES):
NES is the first game console I've
ever played. I love the classic library of NES Classic very much. But Super
Nintendo is the console that makes me fall in love with the game. This is the
best Super Mario game of all time ("Super Mario World"), the best
Zelda game ever ("The Legend of Zelda: Past Links") and the beautiful
iconic graphics. The console introduced millions of "Final Fantasy",
"Street Fighter" and "Star Fox". The Super NES classic with
21 games has the most classic version.
The sequel to the popular "Star
Fox" has never seen the light of Super Nintendo - it was set at the time,
although it was nearing completion and supporting the release of the game on
Nintendo's successor console (Nintendo 64). But Nintendo has added the game to
the Super NES Classic, which is amazing: Nintendo released a game in 2017 for
nearly 30 years - Super Nintendo.

3. PlayStation Classic - Miniaturized version of the original PlayStation
console (PS1 / PSX):
Do not let Nintendo take any
nostalgic profits. Sony offers its own classic game console: PlayStation
Classic. Like Nintendo, Sony's efforts are a miniaturized version of the game
console, a distant memory at that moment. Unlike Nintendo, Sony's PlayStation 1
game is helping to bring 3D games to the mainstream - "Metal Gear"
and "Resident Evil" are famous games, just to name a few. The
PlayStation Classic does not include a power adapter, but you can always use an
existing USB adapter.
