XPERIA
L is Sony's mid-range phone with the powerful XPERIA SP and flagship XPERIA Z.
Since then, the price of this phone has almost halved, and the phone without a
SIM card is now around 130 euros. The contract is also good, so if you're ready
to buy from Affordable Mobile, most 1GB data plans is currently around £ 13 a
month. Otherwise, it will become increasingly difficult to control XPERIA L as
it will end. However, if you decide to buy one before it disappears forever,
XPERIA L will still provide you with a few phones.
The
phone does not have spectacular specifications, but works as a package. You get
a 1.0GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.1 - not much compared to
the 2GHz monster seen on high-end smartphones today, but we complain not about
the performance of the phone. The animation is silky soft by opening and
closing the application with a snapshot. As expected, the phone's performance
in the JavaScript benchmark of Sun Spider 1.0 is not great. The test was
completed in 2,646 milliseconds with the standard Chrome browser, which is
twice as large as the XPERIA SP and the 1.7-GHz dual-core chip. Chrome is very
slow in Sun spiders, but even with the faster Dolphin browser, we only saw
1,564ms, which is a very middle score.
Subjectively,
this average benchmark score does not significantly affect the phone's web
browsing performance. The Maps app slides smoothly under your fingers and
hardly hesitates if the page is moved smoothly. When you scroll through large
images, only a barely noticeable slowdown can be seen. Compared to the Samsung
Galaxy S3, the stronger S3 browsing effect is a bit softer, but not many of
them. You should not have any problems with the game as the XPERIA processor
performs well in the 3DMark benchmark. The 4074 is a better result than we
expect from this price of the phone, and with more expensive phones like the
HTC One X +. 3D games are also faster than the Samsung Galaxy S3, which means
that their 3D performance is better than the high-end phones of the previous
year.
We
are also very impressed by the XPERIA screen. Similarly, the 854x480 resolution
is very standard for phones with this price. You need to enlarge the text on
the web, but we see bright white and bold colors. The XPERIA LCD screen does
not have real AMOLED black, but the black color is still very deep. This is a
high quality display for a relatively cheap phone. The design of the phone will
definitely create differences in the office. It looks rough in the era of a
sleeker smartphone, with a wide chin, a set back and a gorgeous rubber finish.
The protruding edge of the phone makes you feel that it can withstand most
flashovers, as the screen is protected unless you place the phone directly on
your face.
XPERIA
L has a pretty good battery life. In an uninterrupted video playback test,
we've done 7 hours and 32 minutes, but in the face of newer Android phones,
they made a mediocre impression, and these phones last about 10 hours in the
shortest time. Like XPERIA SP and XPERIA Z, Sony has made many changes to the
Android version of XPERIA. This may offend Android purists, but we find that
these changes are tasteful and practical. We especially like this drop-down
box, which allows you to sort your apps in the most used or recently installed
way.
XPERIA
L was called "Camera Expert Camera Phone" by Sony and we were
impressed with the performance of the backlit camera sensor. The sensor circle
of the backlit sensor is located on the back and not on the front so that light
does not touch the sensor. This should lead to a better picture quality in low
light conditions. The XPERIA L uses some of the best low-light shots we've ever
seen, with more detail and less noise than the Samsung Galaxy S4. If there is
no spectacular picture, daylight pictures are acceptable. The contrast is
impressive, and on sunny days there are no signs of overexposure in the lighter
areas. However, when you zoom in, the details become confusing and show the
XPERIA L'8 megapixel limit. In reasonable lighting conditions, the video
quality is acceptable. In low light conditions, however, the frame rate drops,
making the lens extremely unstable. This is not a movie show or night service.
Sony
XPERIA L is a very affordable phone, but now the new Moto G only needs a £ 145
SIM card, and XPERIA L simply cannot compete. Motorola's very good Android
phone has blasted all the other cheap phones, and few people can offer a
valuable competitor. It's better than XPERIA L in almost every way. It has a
higher resolution screen, a faster processor, and a longer battery life. The
camera of the XPERIA L is excellent, but not enough to be worth the money. If
you have no unfounded hatred for everything in Motorola, you will not be silly
if you buy Moto G for XPERIA L.
The
last nail in the coffin is the operating system. XPERIA L was recently updated
to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but Moto G is one step ahead. Moto G now offers
Android 4.4.4 KitKat and is guaranteed to be updated to Android Lollipop. The
latest version of Android is impressive, providing the operating system with
updated features such as a friendly interface and Google Now.
