The
XPERIA XZ3 is the best rounded and completed Sony phone so far. The Sony XPERIA
XZ3 is available without a SIM card for £ 699 and is available from a variety
of operators and retailers.
SONY XPERIA XZ3 - DESIGN AND
CONSTRUCTION:
The
Sony XPERIA XZ3 has fortunately been given a completely new design, with a new
18: 9 form factor, a Samsung display and a lush new 3mm aluminum frame. This
feels very high quality in the hand and has a pleasantly dense presence, which
I personally see in my cell phones. According to Sony, the aluminum frame is
made of the same aluminum used to make the aircraft, and it feels like it's in
the hand, radiating a coolness and stiffness that more plastic-heavy phones
cannot. According to Sony, the aluminum frame of the XZ3 is 40 percent stronger
than the XZ2.
On
the back of the phone is a shiny glossy back plate, which is a fingerprint
magnet on the darker colors. The phone's rear camera and the circular
fingerprint reader are in the same position as the XZ2. The positioning of the
fingerprint sensor is fine for my money, although with built-in in-display
readers (Huawei Mate 20, reportedly) I cannot say that this is a standout
feature. In terms of buttons and ports, the XZ3 does not have a 3.5mm headphone
jack, but retains the dedicated series physical camera key located at the
bottom right of the phone. Power and volume buttons as well as a USB Type-C
connection complete the package.
SONY XPERIA
XZ3 - SCREEN, HARDWARE AND AUDIO:
Without a doubt, the highlight of the Sony
XPERIA XZ3 is the new 6-inch HDR screen QHD + (1,440 x 2,880) with 18: 9 (18:
9). This is a non-notched OLED panel developed in collaboration with Sony's
Bravia engineering team, the guys who design the screen tech for company
televisions, and simply, it's absolutely stunning. Brightness and color depth
are first class. The premium panel of the Samsung Galaxy S9, the HTC U12 + and
even the new iPhone XS can be brought to the point easily. When you display
high-definition HDR content on this screen, the chin goes down.
In fact, in my opinion, the screen of this XZ3
surpasses almost all competitors in terms of peak liveliness, and it was a
pleasure to play games like Tekken and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on the
screen as well as Netflix's HDR movies Brightness is not quite the LG G7 ThinQ,
but also impressive. This new OLED screen also has some very advanced
technologies, including X-Reality for Mobile (up-scaling technology that allows
SDR video to be brought close to QHD HDR), a Dynamic Contrast Enhancer and
Triluminous Display for phones. Together with the raw quality of the panel, the
screen of the XZ3 is an absolute visual powerhouse. The curved, rimless screen
is also equipped with 3D Gorilla Glass 5, which I believe is the best solution
against scratches and cracks.
