The Samsung Notebook Odyssey is
equipped with an updated processor, a first-rate graphics card and a range of
exclusive features in a newly designed profile and will be available in early
2019. The Samsung Notebook Odyssey comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display with
narrow apertures and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. The high refresh rate means that
playing on the machine is a haunting and interactive experience with clear
picture quality and smooth frame rates. The interior parts are housed in an
aluminum true metal material weighing a total of 2.4 kg and measuring 357.6 x
270.5 x 19.9 mm.
The Odyssey notebook is based on the
latest 8th generation Intel processor, a Hexa-Core i7 processor with a high-end
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20-series GPU, up to 16 GB RAM, 256 GB NVMe SSD and 1 TB
hard disk space. These processors are based on the new NVIDIA Turing GPU
architecture, NVIDIA G-SYNC and the RTX platform and combine real-time
raytracing, artificial intelligence and programmable shading.
The notebook also features two newly
developed 83-bladed Jet Blade fans with a penta-tube cooling system that allows
the machine to run as fast and cold as possible, no matter how long the game
session lasts. The notebook Odyssey also has a game-intensive Odyssey mode, in
which users can save the presets for different varieties under different
profiles. There is a Beast mode that allows users to modulate the performance
of the device, and the Black Equalizer helps users prepare for the competition
by improving in-game lighting. The notebook Odyssey comes with a battery of 54
watt-hours and stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos. Connection options
include WLAN 802.11ac 2 × 2, a USB-C port, three USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port,
and an RJ-45 port.
Other highlights include a fancy
"Penta-Pipe" cooling system that protects the CPU and GPU from
overheating, as well as stereo speakers that benefit from Dolby Atmos. Gamers
will also receive Samsung's Odyssey mode, which allows them to save different
profiles for different types of games, and Beast mode to optimize performance
and probably maximize frame rate, if you wish (at least that's the case).
Most notable is the graphics card in
the notebook Odyssey: the Nvidia RTX 2080th Nvidia has just announced these new
graphics cards that will soon come on at least 40 laptops. The RTX 2080 and RTX
2060 cards promise great performance and efficiency gains over their GTX
counterparts. The RTX 2080 offers 20% more performance than the GTX 1080 GPU.
They also provide ray-tracking capabilities for the PCs they serve, a process
used in movies to make live-action graphics hyperrealistic.
