Checkout cheap and trusted repair & replacement service for Samsung Notebook 7 Spin in UK

The battery life of the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is still impressive, but the look is a bit noisy. The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin jumps into my 2018 in a crowded hybrid market and hopes to improve it as much as possible.

DESIGN:

Samsung has a basic aesthetic look when it comes to its consumer laptops, and the Samsung 7 Spin notebook is noticeably part of that look. Yes, the standard look is here, but there is nothing else that influences the design. Apart from the standard Samsung logo on the lid, this can also be a generic laptop among the masses. It would have been nice to see that Samsung gives the chassis and the overall picture of this machine a little flair. Even a few accents on the hinges or a texture on the palm rest. Something that gives the individuality a feeling would be great. The materials used in the construction are solid and high quality enough, although the bottom plate feels ... weird. It's rubbery and sticky, which feels good, but also looks weird.

Starting from the bottom you will find the four rubber feet for stability on a hard surface. There is also a nice long vent to push the heat away from the interiors. Finally, there are two speakers on the bottom, but more on that later. On the cover is not much to see except the Samsung logo. On the right side you will find the microphone array, the fingerprint sensor and a USB 2.0 port (this should have been 3.0). On the left side are the DC port of the barrel port, the HDMI port, the USB 3.0 port, the USB C port and the headphone / microphone jack. Adding this USB-C port was a big step from Samsung.

DISPLAY:

In general, Samsung is great at displays. Even their basic ads look fantastic. The display of our test device was a FHD LED display that ran really well with colors, black and white. The brightness of the panel is 300 nits, which is simple and average.

The colors on this panel are slightly oversaturated. Blacks are beautiful and rich in contrast with white pretty clean and crisp. Reading text on this board was enjoyable. Everything was sharp and easy to distinguish. Our Samsung Notebook 7 Spin was non-contact and the responsiveness was good and acceptable. The gestures all worked as they should, and taps were registered relatively quickly, without them having to try it several times. There are high-end laptops that are better, but this works well enough for the price it belongs to.

SOFTWARE:

Windows 10 is running on the Samsung Notebook 7 Spin. About Windows 10 is not much to say unless we like it. It runs well and supples on the 7 Spin in laptop and tablet mode. There are some games preinstalled, some are just placeholders for the Microsoft Store. However, you can uninstall them; therefore, it does not bother me so much. McAfee Live Safe is another matter. This is something I just wish PC makers would skip their software offerings. You can uninstall what you want, although sometimes McAfee can be a complete uninstaller. Overall, the software experience is good with a few minor exceptions in Samsung's third-party partnerships.

PERFORMANCE:

The Samsung Notebook 7 Spin is an Intel Core i5 with integrated Intel UHD graphics. Our test device came with 8 GB of RAM. You can configure this with a better processor, more RAM and a larger screen for an extra charge. I found the way of the keys good, but the distance was just for my personal taste. The trackpad is also acceptable, but it's certainly not the best. It would be nice to have a slimmer, responsive trackpad, but the provided one does the job, it's just that I used it better.
Overall, the 7 spin has done very well to do what a simple user needs to do. I'm sure you can do light games in this area, very light games, but do not expect a workhorse for heavy apps or heavy games. Web browsing, email and word processing were smooth and instantaneous. This is really a laptop for ease of use at the consumer level, and it's really good in that regard.

LIFE OF THE BATTERY:

Samsung cites the 9.5 hour battery life of the 7 Spin, and in normal use, we averaged over 8 hours. Nevertheless, Samsung would like to mention a few things about the battery life and the specified battery life of the 7 Spin.
