XPERIA XZ4 is the adopted name for the
successor to the XPERIA XZ3. While the latter meant a return to form for Sony
smartphones, the XZ4 is expected to significantly boost the ante. Rumors about
the new XPERIA handset have been heating up before the expected revelation,
possibly providing a tantalizing glimpse of the best features.
Design:
While Sony has drastically reduced the edges
of the XPERIA XZ3 handset, it is expected that the company will present even smaller
margins around the XZ4's panel. The notable Tipster Ice Universe has recently
posted pictures of a supposed screen protector for the handset that displays an
outline of its panel. It has been shown that the XPERIA XZ4 has extremely tiny
apertures without a notch on the top and bottom. Such a design choice is
similar to the current configuration of the Galaxy Note 9. The most striking
feature of the device, however, was how big the displayed display was.
The XPERIA XZ4 is said to have a panel with an
aspect ratio of 21: 9, a form factor that would be unbelievably unique to a
smartphone. Ice Universe insisted that the screen of the handset be
"similar" to the iPhone Xs Max and demonstrate its sheer size. The
design, which was presented by the alleged screen protector films, seemed to be
reproduced by recent renderings of the handset, which came on the market via
Olixar.
The product was shown with a glass structure
with three cameras on the back, suggesting that the XPERIA fans are set for a
significant improvement in photography. Note that there is no physical
fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. This suggests that Sony may embed
the reader under the display of the phone or display it within the flagship
power switch.
Performance:
The Sony XPERIA XZ4 is expected to run on the
new Snapdragon 855 processor from Qualcomm and comes with at least 6GB of RAM.
The new chipset should provide fast performance for Google's Android 9 Pie
operating system.
Google specifically stated that such actions
should facilitate navigation on large devices as a whole. However, we want
Android to be easier to use and more accessible. In Android 9, we have
introduced new system navigation with just a home button. This is especially
helpful as the phones get bigger and harder to do the tasks with one hand on
your phone. With a single, clean start button, you can scroll up to see a
redesigned overview. There you can see at a glance the preview of your most
recently used apps in full screen. The claimed home menu for the XPERIA XZ4
appeared to show the same pill-shaped home button you'll find at Google Pixel
3.
The button allows users to swipe up to access
the app's drawer and multitasking menu. In addition, pressing the icon brings
the user home. It's also worth noting that Android 9 Pie Gesture navigations
still provide the user with a traditional back button. While Pixel 3 does not
allow users to resort to the operating system's signature three-key
combination, it is currently unknown whether the XPERIA XZ4 allows users to switch.
ZackBuks took the claimed home screen from the XZ4 and placed it on alleged
renderings of the hardware to provide the best view on the phone.
