If you miss it, Motorola has just announced some new low-cost
gadgets for its popular Moto G and Moto E series, which look just as beautiful
as they do, with a round glass rear panel and dual lens! The top end of all
phones released on the market is the Moto G6 Plus, which replaced the Moto G5
Plus in Motorola's strong budget lineup last year.
Motorola updates the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus on Android 8.0
Oreo. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus were released in March and April 2017 with
Android 7.0 Nougat. Given the typical 24-month Android smartphone life cycle,
they should also apply to the Android 9.0 Pie Update. However, given the time
required to introduce this update, I will not stop to do another important
update. Like most of these updates, Oreo's Moto G5 and G5 Plus are introduced
in stages; you may have to wait a week or so to see it on your phone.
What's new in Moto G6
Plus?
The Moto G6 Plus comes with many new features, including a
complete redesign that is more similar to the Moto X4 than the previous Moto
GS. In addition to the round glass back, the front fingerprint sensor has
shrunk to accommodate the G6 Plus's new 18: 9 aspect ratio display, which is
5.2 to 5.9 inches up on the previous year. The G6 Plus is also equipped with
two cameras and the Moto G5S Plus appeared until the end of last year on the
Moto G.
However, not all of these differences exist. The Moto G6 Plus
is in sync with Android 8.0 Oreo and started with twice as much internal memory
as last year's G5 Plus. The battery capacity is 3200mAh or 3000mAh, but the G6
Plus may need to power a larger display.
The Moto G6 Plus is also smarter than last year's models.
Motorola has equipped the G6 Plus with new smart camera settings that allow the
phone to detect specific objects and even apply interesting facial filter
effects. Moto Voice also became smarter; Combine commands on the device
("Disable Bluetooth", "Play Narcos on Netflix," etc.) with
Google Assistant as a backup, if required.
Why do not you have to
Upgrade?
At the end of the day, most people who buy Moto G do not
necessarily do so because they are technical fanatics. You buy it because there
are few other devices that offer the same level of performance and reliability
for a reasonable price. Motorola is one of the most trusted brands in budget.
There's a reason why the Moto G5 Plus is still as good as ever, and now it can
be reduced.
Smart camera features are useful, but they are a long way
from what most people demand. You cannot miss the object recognition in the
camera app, face filters or the quick face recognition of G6 Plus. Why pay for
them? The same goes for the newer Moto Voice feature, but luckily you do not
have to do without Moto gestures if you stay with the Moto G5 Plus. Both phones
are very well matched in the specification department. Compared to the G5 Plus
Snapdragon 625, the Snapdragon 630 of Moto G6 Plus is slightly higher, but both
chips use the same Cortex-A53 microarchitecture (although the clock rates are
different). If you still prefer the Moto G6 Plus's 18: 9 displays, the curved
glass backplane and the dual camera, you should still choose it. However, if
you have almost the same specifications and features in a smaller chassis, do
not advise selling the Moto G5 Plus to the dealer.
