The Sony XPERIA XZ1 is the company's expensive flagship, but
at first glance it's hard to say, because Sony is once again addicted to his
seemingly unstoppable passion for Omni's balanced design, which has changed
only subtly in the last four years.
You can forgive the XPERIA XZ1 for a few years, similar to
previous mobile phones, such as the XPERIA XZ 2016, its predecessor and XPERIA
Z5 (2015) and XPERIA Z3 (2014). At least the specifications are 2017, with
Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB RAM, 19MP rearview camera, HDR for monitors and
Android 8.0 Oreo onboard.
The Sony XPERIA XZ1 was released on September 19th in the US
and on September 22nd in the UK. We expect it to reach the main market at the
same time. As for the price of the Sony XPERIA XZ1 when launched in the UK, it
was priced at £ 599 ($ 699.99 or about $ 875). This makes the XPERIA XZ1 more
expensive than the LG G6, HTC U11 and iPhone 7, but cheaper than the Samsung
Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8.
Design:
The XPERIA XZ1 is the successor to XPERIA XZ. Although Sony
has improved its new flagship phone for a smoother, more impressive effect,
this design has not changed significantly in recent years. Thus, the Sony
XPERIA XZ1 looks a bit outdated especially with an impressive little frame next
to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6 - and the iPhone X uses this futuristic
look, the feeling that Sony lacks a skill.
Although it's not the only manufacturer that can create extra
screen space - the new iPhone 8, the HTC U11 and the OnePlus 5 all have pretty
big limits - but there's no doubt that this fearless brigade looks better. As
mentioned earlier, Sony has subtly improved its design once again. First of
all, the XPERIA XZ1 is thinner than its predecessor, 7.4 mm (reduced by 8.1
mm). It is made from one piece of aluminum and is said to be stronger and
lighter - an improvement for the XZ.
There are three antenna branch points on the phone, shown as
three narrow bands on each side of the device. Sony said that no matter how you
hold your phone, it will improve network connectivity; In short, your hand
probably will not block all of the XPERIA XZ1's antennas. These are small
improvements, rounded edges that make the XZ1 feel safer and easier, although
it does not have the slightly curved edges like the Samsung Galaxy S8, it still
stretches to the fingers on the screen. On both sides, you'll find that the
usual suspect has a SIM card and a micro SD tray on the left, a volume rocker
on the right, a dedicated camera button, and a concave power button.
The Sony XPERIA XZ1 is available in four colors: Black, Warm
Silver, Horizon Blue and Venus Pink, though it is unclear whether all of these
shades will appear in all areas of mobile phone sales. Finally, in terms of
design, the back phone has received adjustments. The main camera sensor is in a
familiar position in the upper left corner, but the flash and laser were
repositioned horizontally in the center of the phone. Overall, the Sony XPERIA
XZ1 has a smart, high quality design that's perfect for business professionals,
but it looks outdated compared to its competitors.
Display:
The display of the Sony XPERIA XZ1 is another feature that
you will not think about on the Android smartphone 2017. You get a 10-inch
5.2-inch display covered by Gorilla Glass 5. At this size, the screen is clear,
the text is easy to read and the image is displayed at a high level. However,
for the same money, in some cases you can use your competitor's QHD monitor to
click on the flagship smartphone to give your eyeballs more detail, color, and
effect. Considering that Sony has already played a 4K display on the XPERIA XZ
Premium, it decided to drop it to 1080p on the XZ1, which is even more
puzzling.
But not all bad news, because Sony has added HDR support to
the XZ1 screen, which means that you can get bright, clear and more from the
supported services (including YouTube, Amazon Prime and Netflix). The HDR-ready
video looks impressive on the XZ1's display, resulting in a pleasurable viewing
experience. Thick borders above and below the display are also useful because
they allow you to relax your thumb without obscuring an ad.
