In the midst of the miniature Sony XPERIA Z5 Compact and Sony
XPERIA Z5 Premium, the regular Z5 may look like the least interesting of the
three. However, if you spend some time with the XPERIA Z5, you will find that
it is a great phone, with an ace camera, a lively display and lots of power
behind the frosted glass.
It has the right to many mistakes caused by the terrible Z3
+, and although it is far from perfect, it is probably the best XPERIA on the
market today.
Sony XPERIA Z5 Review -
Screen:
When it comes to the screen technologies Triluminous and
Bravia Mobile Engine from XPERIA, Sony uses many buzz words. It's mostly
marketing, so I'm not getting tired of you. All you need to know is that the
screen of the XPERIA Z5 is great in almost every way. It is bright, vibrant and
accurately displays colors and details.
Sony said that quad-core HD does not really add anything to
this size cellphone screen, and most of the time I agree. Samsung Galaxy S6 and
Motorola's Moto X Style will not bother me because they do not contain
pixel-intensive 4D HD panels.
I cannot select a single pixel on my 1080p screen, and the
IPS LCD panel shows the color with great precision. White is bright, yellow and
red are alive, not oversaturated, if you do not increase the brightness too
high, black is deep and ink. The viewing angle is also great, it can be used
unexpectedly in bright light, and glare is rarely a problem.
Sony XPERIA Z5 Review -
Design:
Sony clearly believes that the overall impression of the XPERIA
series will be the winner as the handset design has barely changed over the
last four years. I hope to see a little update this time, but there is no doubt
that Sony has created a stylish smartphone. The straight edge fits perfectly to
the fillet and the front and back are covered with Gorilla glass.
Generally I do not like cell phones with a glass back cover.
The glass attracts stains and they are too easy to break. I had to go through
at least four iPhone 4s and even the tempered glass on the back of the Samsung
Galaxy S6 collapsed after I fell off a foot. My first problem was solved with
the milk glass used here. It is absolutely smudged free and has a nice matte
effect. When I first started using the XPERIA Z5, I did not even think it was
glass because it felt more like touch plastic. Luckily, since I have not given
up, I cannot say if it will be damaged forever after meeting the concrete slab,
but my instinct says it will.
This time, Sony abandoned the round metal switch on all other
XPERIA devices and replaced it with a flatter, longer version. There are good
reasons for the change, because it now has a fingerprint sensor. The
fingerprint reader on Android has been around for a long time, but no one
really determines where it's best placed on the back of the camera. Do not. The
laterally mounted version of Sony is the best. It makes sense to put the sensor
in the key you always use to unlock the device, and Sony's explanation is quick
and accurate. In twenty attempts, the scanner worked flawlessly every time.
However, I have some problems with the design of the XPERIA
Z5. The biggest one is the placement of the volume keys. They are down on the
right, and when I come to the power switch, I find myself accidentally meeting
them. I also do not really like the edges protruding slightly behind the glass.
This will make the phone uncomfortable to grab my palm. In contrast to the
XPERIA Z5 Compact it is slightly thicker and the vanilla Z5 is very thin and
measures 7.3 mm.
Like the previous XPERIA Z-phone, the Z5 is waterproof and
IP68 rated. It is waterproof and you can use it. Do you know water? But Sony
thinks that it is not. It does not want you to use it like a GoPro in a pool or
a shower. Instead, it prevents accidental drops of a cup of tea or is given up
in the rain.
