The LG K8 (2018) is obviously a budget phone, and although we
do not know the price of the event, we do not know when it's going to be
released - but if it's cheap enough, that might be a little budget winner. LG
has apparently positioned the phone as someone who needs a bit of technology in
life, or just wants a phone that is not terrible, but at a reasonable price, if
the cost is low enough, it will probably be successful.
Design and Screen:
In contrast to the metal-coated LG K10, the K8 has an external
plastic housing, which is net-like for a pleasant grip. The camera was moved
centrally over the fingerprint scanner (another nice feature). However, if you
pick it up, it will not feel too easy or cheap, and there will not be much
bending when it is subjected to a little pressure, which is usually a sign of a
quality construction.
The screen is 5 inches tall and uses LG's in-cell technology
to enhance the quality of the basic LCD screen. In use, it provides a good
contrast, beautiful black and beautiful color rendering - we expect this
quality phone to be even worse. The resolution is not the best, only 1280x720, but 279 pixels per inch are not too bad in screen size.
The overall usage is a touch delay, which makes sense if you
think that it has a quad-core CPU with 2 GB of internal memory. Not a bad
specification, and with 16GB of built-in memory, you can use it in a few years
without worrying about deleting many photos. We found that something like
Google Chrome loads slowly, but this is the prototype of MWC 2018, so any
chance of losing the final version will ease a bit.
Camera and Battery:
The LG K8 (2018) camera is not world class with 8 megapixels
(do you feel this topic here?), But it is not bad for a cheaper phone. The
front camera is a 5 megapixel sensor that is charged with a forward-looking
flash when the screen is illuminated, but it seems a bit dark to us. The
rear-view camera is supposed to help improve low noise, possibly through
software processing, and the darker photos we take look good - not exciting,
but okay.
There's also a feature called Flash Jump Shot, where you can
put together a bunch of photos and turn them into GIFs, suggesting that the
phone's target is a younger generation (or a younger generation). The LG K8
(2018) has a 2500 mAh battery pack, which works quite well with the minimum
requirements offered here. For example, if you compare it to the Sony XPERIA
XZ2 Compact, it has a 2780mAh power supply and there is more to do. There is
nothing like wireless charging here, but we have never expected a possible
price point.
Conclusion:
There is hardly a LG K8 (2018) in the absence of the price,
but if our suspicions are correct, then this might be a decent low-end phone
because big brands are starting to make their high-end technology more
budget-model too hold. The key question is: Can the LG K8 stay in shape when
it's full of apps and photos in a few months, or will the little trembling we
see now cause a major slowdown? You have to wait for our last review to find
