Despite the low price, the 18:9 display and dual cameras are
a tribute to the new entrants to the Motorola Moto G family. Available, prices
start at £ 169 / € 199. Here's everything you need to know about the best
budget mobile phone of 2018, the new Moto G6.
What's new in Moto G6?
The Moto G6 may have a low price, but it's not designed that
much. All three new models support the 18:9 "Max Vision" displays,
which are usually found on mobile phones at a much higher price. The Moto G6
and G6 Plus also feature a fascinating glass reminiscent of the flagship.
The design has changed due to the higher display, but all of
this can still be immediately recognized as a Motorola phone. They feel good in
their hands. Seen from the front, the three are similar, although Play has a
front-facing fingerprint scanner and a lower resolution HD + display. It has
the same screen size as the Full HD + Moto G6, but the 5.7-inch format is only
0.2 inches smaller than the Moto G6 Plus. All three sporty 8 MP self-portraits
are at the top of this display.
From the back you can see that Motorola has not completely
forgotten the fingerprint scanner in G6 Play and is located under the main
camera. You'll notice, however, that this is a 13-Mp single-lens model, while
the Moto G6 and the G6 Plus are equipped with two lenses with 12-Mp and 5-Mp
lenses. While most dual-camera phones use a second lens for telephoto or
possibly a monochrome sensor, Motorola uses a variety of techniques. For
example, it allows portrait mode with blurry bokeh effects and the ability to
select a single color among other black and white shots. In both, the Moto G6
Plus has the best specs, with f / 1.7 aperture, 1.4um pixels and Motorola dual
AF lens camera. It can also record video in 4K; while the G6 can be up to 1080p
@ 60fps (playback speed is 1080p @ 30fps).
Although this is partly due to the slimmer 8mm chassis, the
camera is more distinctive than its brother. The Moto G6 itself has no weight
of 8.3 mm and weighs 167 grams, while the Moto G6 Play feels 175 grams thicker
and 9 mm thick. Part of the additional weight is due to the high-performance
battery in the Moto G6 Play, where the 4000mAh is compared to the 3000mAh of
the G6 and 3200mAh G6 Plus. All three products support Turbo Power for fast
charging, which is achieved through the USB-C port for two advanced models and
Micro-USB on Play.
In addition to batteries, the specifications on play are
generally much lower than their brothers, which is 50 pounds lower (100 pounds
compared to plus). Its Snapdragon 430 processor is clocked at 1.4GHz,
integrated into the 450 MHz ADRENO 505 GPU, and supports 3GB of RAM. Both the G6
and the G6 Plus have faster processors with 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 and 2.2GHz
Snapdragon 630, but they also have more storage potential. The standard model
has 3 or 4 GB of RAM, while the plus has 4 or 6 GB of RAM. Therefore, it should
have the fastest performance of all three phones - but keep in mind that these
are not flagships. Play memory is set to 32GB; you can choose to choose 64GB
for Moto G6. Plus supports up to 128 GB of internal memory and all models can
be expanded with micro SD cards up to 128 GB.
It's great to see a whole bunch of front speakers and
headphone jacks, and every new Moto G phone is waterproof - at least in the US.
In the UK, we only see the p2i Nano coating on the G6 and G6, and there are
some Nuances in the connection. The Moto G6 Plus is the only product that
supports Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The standard Moto G6 has
Bluetooth 4.2, the same as Play, but dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi. The cheapest
model has a single-band Wi-Fi connection.
