The LG K8, originally offered for £ 130, is now available for
£ 105. The goal is the third-generation Moto G, which costs around £ 150, and
the price difference is small compared to its successor. The G4 is an
incredible bargain, and most people should buy one without thinking. However,
for some people, its 5.5-inch screen size may be confusing to use a 5.5-inch
phone with one hand.
Keep going with the smaller, easier-to-use smartphones from
LG K8 and third-generation Moto G. Both are budget smartphones and offer
similar specifications. The LG K8 is now much cheaper, making it a more
attractive purchase - remember that you can find around £ 130 in the review of
the LG K8 and the third generation Moto G. We have updated this comment to
reflect price changes.
Performance:
With a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor with 1.5GB
of memory it is almost identical to the third generation of the Moto G, which
is managed in our Geekbench 3 benchmark. Although Moto G scored 531 and 1,625
points in Geekbench 3's single and multi-core test, LG scored K8 536 and 1,602
respectively. In fact, it feels very sensitive and sensitive in daily use, and
LG's version 6.0.1 has never felt like it's trying to keep up with our slides
and faucets.
The K8's GPU performance is also good, as graphics are often
the area MediTek has worked in the past compared to Qualcomm-based colleagues.
For example, in the Manhattan 3.0 test of the GFX Bench GL, the LG K8 scored a
very good 188 frames (about 3.0 fps), ahead of the third generation Moto G,
which produced just 103 frames (or 1.7 fps). I cannot see how Hearthstone can
handle it because the game crashes since its release, but other 3D games like
Beach Buggy Racing work very well and provide a smooth frame rate that rarely
stutters or makes it awkward. A simple game like Threes! It feels silky soft on
the LG K8, so should be able to entertain you if you need a little distraction.
When the page is loaded, web surfing stops and starts, which
is undoubtedly the result of a rather mediocre result in the Peacekeeper web
browser test. However, as long as you are ready to wait a few seconds, even
media-intensive pages like the Guardian homepage can be fully controlled at
high speed during scrolling up and down scrolling.
Design:
I'm also a big fan of the LG K8 design because it's made of
plastic and has a crosshatched pattern that feels good on the back and provides
excellent grip. You'll be able to see the phone's battery and micro SD slot,
but in general, it's great for low-cost mobile phones and can be easily held in
one hand. It takes some time to get used to the LG button, but the power switch
is at the right level of the index finger and its rippled surface can be easily
selected between the two volume buttons.
Battery life:
The battery life of the K8 is also promising, as the 2,125
mAh battery lasts 10 hours and 16 minutes in our continuous video playback
test. It's an hour behind the third-generation Moto G, but it's still pretty
impressive for budget smartphones.
