It's 2018, and the tablet market is still not as crowded or
competitive as you might expect. There was a time when many Android makers were
bringing affordable tablets to Apple's iPad, but now the market is pretty
clean, except for a few players. Samsung used Tab A 8.0 as the best-selling
tablet last year. This year, the company hopes its new 10.5-inch Tab A will
work.
The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is 2.5 inches larger than last year's
tab, which is a reasonable step as the 8-inch tablet gradually expires. The new
tablet from Samsung costs 354.32 euros, which is slightly more expensive than
the 9.7-inch iPad from Apple. At this price, the Galaxy Tab A offers
high-resolution FHD resolution for your entertainment needs and uses an updated
design language compared to previous products. But is it enough to make it your
standard Android tablet? Take a moment to read your answer.
Design:
As mentioned above, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a newer design
than the previous tablets. It is worth noting that the display is now higher
and the upper and lower limits have been reduced. Samsung has also removed the
Home button from the bottom so you basically use face recognition as the only
biometric option. The company's best practice as a physical fingerprint sensor
will surely be faster when unlocking tablets. The face unlock was on a medium
level during my tablet use. In a bright outdoor environment, the tablet quickly
unlocks, but in low light conditions, the release on the face is slow and often
inaccurate. You will not see the cleanliness of the front Samsung brand and the
entire front panel for a disturbing experience.
The back of the tray now has a rubber layer on the top for
easy grip. The rubber back wall is smooth and soft, with almost no stains.
Compared to last year's Tab A, it feels more comfortable and qualitative. It's
not just a big tablet, it's still on the heavier side of 534 grams, which means
that if you hold it, your arms will soon get tired and watch the video. The
volume, power button and SIM slot (for LTE version) are on the right side. On
the left side, you'll see four charging station POGO pins that Samsung sells
separately as an accessory.
Galaxy Tab A consists of four speakers placed in every corner
for a stereo effect. The tablet supports Dolby Atmos for 3D surround sound
experience. Speakers are great enough for their voices, but they will not hear
if you are in a lot of noisy surroundings. As a result, the sound quality is
not very clear, and sometimes it sounds a bit low, which is a bit challenging
to talk about. Dolby Atmos Activation provides good sound separation and even
supports headphones.
Display:
The 10.5-inch display is great for a tablet. This is the
largest screen for Tab A. Thanks to the small panels at the top and bottom,
this is quite haunting. The screen will receive FHD (1920 × 1200) pixels and
16:10 aspect compared to Galaxy Tab A 10.1 since 2017. The tablet's shape is
exquisite and Apple is not as wide as the iPad, but allows you to watch videos.
Wide screen landscape mode is a delight. Colors have a good vibrancy and maybe
give you a better look at your videos. The brightness is pretty good,
especially in homes, but it can be brighter to see outside in bright sunlight.
The screen is extremely sharp and immense for media
consumption that most people use. Galaxy A is a 10.5-percent media device.
Aspect ratio is great to watch movies and TV broadcasts in widescreen landscape
mode, and Dolby Atmos's application gives you even more immersive sound
experience.
Samsung's premier-level tablet, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5, comes
with a Rs 10,000, a 1.8 GHz-wide Snapdragon 450 lightweight chip that will be
available on smartphones. For a tablet, this is a bit frustrating, because the
tablets are a little more demanding. Or expect more from a tablet than a
smartphone Dan. You get 3 GB of RAM that is sufficient for basic daily tasks.
However, if you work hard and use it as a PC replacement, Galaxy Tab A is not
for you.
It's good enough to navigate through processors, websites,
social media apps and video streams, but if you're a little more concerned, you
probably will not be disappointed. But the tablet is not fast when launching
and loading apps. When you're browsing through heavy apps, you get something to
do. Fast-paced games like Asphalt 9 run slowly and will get a lot of refresh
rate. A game like PUBG is still working well below the average graphic
settings.
Camera:
I do not use my tablet to take pictures, and I'm pretty sure
many people are doing. We always have phones that can get better pictures on
tablets. Galaxy Tab A brings a 8MP rear camera with flash and 5MP front camera.
These sensors are extremely straightforward and help you make useful
photographs when you're outside and have good lighting. I will not offer many
pictures at home because they will be completely lost and will show many noise.
Battery:
The Galaxy Tab A 10.5 has a 7.300mAh battery, which should
give 14.5 hours of video playback to Samsung. The life of the battery is really
good, and when it comes to brightness, Samsung comes closer. Before I gave up
battery, all the 10 episodes of the Iron Fist Season immediately succeeded, and
that's pretty good. Nevertheless, the waiting period could have been better,
and Apple iPads still offer the best waiting time. If you have a SIM card, the
battery life may be different and you may use the mobile data continuously.
