At first glance, the HTC Desire 10 Pro can draw for just one
aspect of fandom - its cameras. The back has a (strangely) powerful 20
megapixel camera and a 13 megapixel front camera that would make you take a lot
of selfies. The test package consisted of the neatly seated HTC Desire 10 Pro
and red accented earphones (more about earphones under sound) and a matte 2A
wall mount with USB to micro USB cable. While most manufacturers do without it,
the inclusion of earphones is interesting.
At first glance, the realization that quickly arrived was
that the polar white HTC Desire 10 Pro we received could attract women more
than white. It is available in colors with more jazzy names - Stone Black,
Royal Blue and Valentine Lux. The phone with a unibody chassis is light and
thin. The design is essentially the same as the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle with
better cameras, more memory and memory, and a richer resolution screen. The
fingerprint sensor on the back is a welcome addition. The battery is locked
inside the case, which is filled with a matte finish and antenna lines - golden
in the case of the white color - along with the outline of the body. The front
features capacitive buttons for background haptic, home and multitasking
interaction. These are illuminated upon contact and the duration of the light
can be adjusted.
On the front is a 5.5-inch screen, which is stored under a
gorilla sheath. The resolution of 1080x1920 pixels gives a pixel density of 401
ppi. A remarkable 13 megapixel selfie camera has front-side space, along with a
primary earphone, a multicolor notification LED, and an ambient light sensor.
On the back is a huge and bulky camera lens with a 20 megapixel sensor, two LED
flashlights, a BSI sensor (which can be confused with a laser autofocus
sensor), a secondary noise canceling microphone, and a fingerprint sensor. The
Hybrid SIM tray ejects on the left edge, while the Power Button and Volume
Rocker buttons are on the right side. The power button is textured, which makes
it easier to distinguish it from the volume button. The top contains a 3.5mm
headphone jack, while the micro USB charging port, the mono speaker hidden
under a grill, and the main microphone can be found at the bottom.
On the HTC Desire 10 Pro, the HTC Sense Home interface runs
on a version of Android Marshmallow 6.0 with skin color. The only peculiarity
of looking at the vanilla and Android is the notification panel, where tiles
cannot be customized. Swiping to the left draws the HTC Blinkfeed, which
displays results and suggestions based on your usage. The user interface can be
customized with HTC Theme Engine. We personally prefer a minimal look and stay
away from the theme engine. HTC has included a Boost + app that can clear the
cache, increase RAM, optimize performance, and lock apps using the fingerprint
sensor. This is a handy addition to the bundle. HTC has also included a
separate flashlight app that feels irrelevant. In addition to third-party apps,
there are other apps - Hungama Music, News Republic and Fitness Tracker App
Record.
The Desire 10 Pro is definitely remarkable in terms of
battery life, which can be used for an average of 24 hours, using 4G and Wi-Fi
interchangeably, taking lots of pictures and selfies, and moderate games. It
took well a day in Barot with flickering network connection (to our rescue was
Reliance Jio, who worked at 4G speeds) and overbearing / extravagant
photography. The 3000 mAh battery is very rugged because it took six hours in
our video loop test.
