Sony seems to be firm in terms of specification and price.
Half price of electronic supermarket brand is not expected to be coming soon.
For this reason, the new Sony Xperia M4 Aqua Dual is
surprisingly affordable. We are digging deep into the surface to understand that Sony wants to
stay in the game. We have come to an amazing conclusion.
Hardware
Specifications:
The Xperia M4 Aqua Dual is made of plastic and glass and the
back and curved sides are perfectly flat. The pink version of white and coral
was nice, but the black version we received was not particularly noticeable. It
seemed to be hidden. Its pure body is only damaged by the silver brand logo,
the ring around the rear camera lens and the power button on the side. When the
screen goes off, it looks like a shiny black tablet.
The sides are curved and non-slip matte finish, but the flat
back is not suitable for very comfortable grips. There was always a gap with
the bent edge inward to protect the back. The device is completely sealed so
that all ports and slots can be accessed from the outside. The MicroSD slot is
located in the upper left corner and the two Nano-SIM slots are located on the
upper right behind the rubberized flap.
This is because one of Xperia M4 Aqua's biggest selling points is waterproof. The IP65 and IP68 rating means that
it can withstand up to 1.5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes and is
resistant to dust damage. Interestingly, Sony achieved this goal instead of the
upper 3.5mm audio port and the upper left Micro-USB port. The latter is the
most important. This is because the flap increases quickly every time you need
to charge your phone.
The on / off button is an exceptionally small nodule and is
placed awkwardly in the middle of the right side where it is never easy to
reach. The volume buttons are even more awkward underneath and bottom right is
a two-step camera quick release and shutter release button. The camera button
is a nice touch and the position works well when you hold the phone up to use
as a camera. Sony is one of the few companies that make an effort to add such a
button, which we like.
Specifications and
software:
The Snapdragon 615 SoC that provides power to this phone is
nowadays common on phones that cost less than this, but that is by no means
lax. With four 1.5 GHz cores and a further four 1 GHz cores, the SoC can handle
heavy tasks and save power when needed. There is 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of
internal storage, although support for microSD cards is strangely limited to 32
GB or less.
The screen measures 5 inches diagonally and has a resolution
of 720x1280 and is less vivid than a full HD screen from other phones in this
range, but there is no real loss. Everything is still clear and the screen is
actually quite good in terms of color rendering and viewing angle.
You can use 4G network that uses the 2300 MHz band via a SIM
card in both slots. Interestingly, USB OTG storage devices are not supported.
The capacity of the battery is 2,400 mAh and is suitable for thin devices.
We get Android 5.0 with Sony's own overlay. Most of these
themes are designed as Sony movies or music ties, but they have themes
available. This is in line with the unfortunate trend of overloading software
with ads for its media products. The Home screen dock has a Sony Liv icon and a
row for Sony's music, albums, movies, and PlayStation applications. There is
also a huge new widget that advertises company media.
Some pre-installed applications such as MobiSystems
OfficeSuite, AVG Protection and TrackID are both useful and other news such as
the Xperia Lounge and SociaLife is little spam. You can only remove some of
them. One of the latest software features is "small application"
support. These are small windows that can float on anything in the current
screen. The task switcher starts at the bottom of the view bar chart. There are
eight small applications available by default, including calculators, timers, and
screenshot controllers, but you can download more. Sony said developers should
add this feature to their application, but as more people can do it, more
features will be available soon. This feature is visible to other brands, but
is usually limited to a small set of apps.
With Sony's camera apps, you can integrate with third-party
companies, so you can even download and start add-ons beyond time-lapse mode,
along with basic advanced auto, manual, synergy, creative effects and panorama
modes. - Known applications such as Vine, CamScanner Phone PDF and Evernote.
