The LG K8 (2018) is obviously a low-budget phone, and even if
we do not know the price of the event, we do not know when it will actually be
released - but if it's not too expensive, then this will be a small budget.
LG has apparently positioned the phone as someone who needs a
little technology in life, or just wants a phone that is not terrible, but at a
reasonable price, if the cost is low enough, it is likely to succeed.
Design and Screen:
Unlike the LG K10 metal case, the K8's case features a
wear-resistant outer case and a grid-like design for a comfortable grip. The
camera was moved centrally, directly above the fingerprint scanner.
However, when you pick it up, it does not seem too light or
inexpensive and it will not be too bent when subjected to slight pressure,
which is usually a sign of quality construction. The screen measures 5 inches
and uses LG's In-Cell technology to improve the quality of the basic LCD
screen. In use, it offers a good contrast, with a beautiful reproduction of
black and beautiful colors, and we expect that this quality phone is even
worse. The resolution is not the best, only 1280x720, but in the screen size,
279 pixels per inch are not too bad.
Overall usage is a contact time, which makes sense when you
think it has a quad-core processor with 2GB of internal memory. Not a bad
specification and with 16GB of built-in storage, you can use it in a few years
without having to worry about deleting a lot of photos. We've seen things like
Chrome go slowly, but that's the prototype of the MWC 2018.
Camera and Battery:
The LG K8 camera (2018) is not world class at 8 megapixels
(do you feel this theme here?) But it's not so bad for a cheaper phone. The
front camera is a 5-megapixel sensor that is supposed to be charged with a
forward-facing flash by illuminating the screen when shooting, but it looks a
bit dark for us.
It is said that the rear camera helps to improve the low
noise, probably through software processing, and that the darker photos we take
are good, not exciting, but correct. There is also a feature called Flash Jump
Shot, where you can assemble a series of photos and turn them into GIF sharing,
suggesting that the phone's lens is a young (or young) generation.
There's a 2500mAh battery pack on the LG K8 (2018), which
probably will last pretty well given the minimal spec on offer here. If you
compare that to the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, for instance, that has a 2780mAh
power unit and that has far more work to do. There's nothing like wireless
charging on offer here, but then again we wouldn't have expected it given the
possible price point.
There's very little to laud on the LG K8 (2018) without a
price around, but if our suspicions are correct, this could be a decent phone
at the low-end as the big brands start sticking their high-end tech in more
budget models.
The key question will be: can the LG K8 stay running well
after a few months when it's filled with apps and photos, or will the little
judders we're seeing now turn into bigger slow-downs? You'll have to wait for
our final review to find out, so stay tuned for that to turn up.
